The built-in features of Sage CRM include a Sales Opportunity pipeline that graphically illustrates the progress of potential sales. Opportunities to sell products or services are recorded and automated actions can be set up to help drive the sales process forward. Details of all related communications including e-mails, proposals and quotes are stored within the system and can be accessed by anyone who needs to.
NPD Project Recording
New Product Development projects often involve a lot of input from different areas of the business including sales, technical, legal and production. These inputs need to be recorded in one place, and the progress of the project needs to be visible to all concerned parties.
morsell includes an NPD Project section which allows projects to be defined and the various steps required to be entered. Recipes and Samples may be linked to projects and automated workflow features are available to alert staff at specific stages of the projects. Requirements for actions by specific members of staff are easily visible and updated, to help ensure a project proceeds at the required pace.
Sample Tracking

Often a salesman will request that a sample is developed by his company's new product development department. Because of the busy nature of both the sales and NPD teams, it is often not clear if the samples have been sent and often the outcome of the customer's review of the sample is not adequately chased up.
morsell includes a Sample Tracking module, that allows details of any sample request to be recorded for the Customer. The details are updated once the sample has been sent and an automatic workflow feature ensures sales staff are reminded to contact the customer to see how well the sample performed.
Recipe Management
Maintaining a historical record of recipes is important to any company involved in the food industry. Being able to trace the make-up of any sample sent, and having details of development recipes for costing purposes can make a business much more efficient.
