Portastor - case study

Portastor, a division of Portasilo Ltd and part of the Shepherd Group in York, is a major supplier of equipment housings to industries including rail, communications and the power utilities.

Brief

Part of the Shepherd Group and a sister company of Portakabin, Portator is a major industrial business with a large customer base. The business used an older version of Sales Logix CRM software to track customer details and potential sales. Over time, various key business processes had changed and the existing system, and the original customisations that had been applied to it, no longer fitted the requirements of the business. Portastor were also interested in how CRM systems in general had developed since their previous installation and were keen to take advantage of the latest innovations in CRM software.

Approach

Portasilo invited Intradev to review their business processes and their use of the current CRM system. Intradev thoroughly reviewed the business, documenting the processes and reviewing existing data. A full requirements document was produced which detailed a proposed solution based on Sage CRM.

Solution

Intradev proposed a solution based on Sage. In order to fit the business requirements wide ranging customisations were developed, tested and trialled prior to installation. All data was successfully migrated from the existing CRM system. A bespoke training package was put together and users trained on the new system, prior to a successful go-live.

Benefit

Portastor now have a modern, efficient CRM system that matches their business requirements. All data was transferred eliminating any need for re-keying of information and retaining a historical record.
